Does Cohousing exist for less than $100k ?

I've looked and I've looked and have yet to find *anything* at all for less than $100k.

I've worked hard for many years to save up this much and would love to find a cohousing community west of the mississippi river that I can actually afford.

Does anyone know of anything in this price range?

Thanks

Try Lawrence, Kansas, I believe units there start at $100k: Delaware Street Commons. Also possibly St. Louis, Missouri: Metro Cohousing at Culver Way.

You might look into other forms of intentional communities, that use different financing/ownership models, but with land and construction prices being what they are, it is hard to imagine common space plus homes being constructed for less in today's market.

Have you looked into different things groups are doing for affordability. City programs? Silent second mortgages? First-time homebuyer assistance? 50-year mortgages? There's lots of ways to extend your buying power.

Thanks you two...I'm not a person who likes debt at all and i strive very hard to not have any which is one of the reason I would much rather buy a small place than have to borrow for a larger one. I'll look at both of your suggesstions.
